Bio: Mike began his playwriting career when he discovered that writing scripts was cheaper than seeing a psychiatrist. A lifelong St. Louisian, he attended the University of Missouri and occasionally went to class too. It was in Columbia, as part of his creative writing segment for his English degree that Mike stumbled into a beginning playwriting course taught by his future mentor Bob AuFrance. That day was, according to Mr. AuFrance, “the beginning of the end of respectable theatre.”
Mike has written numerous plays including Section 335, Crossing Clayton and Crown Candy Stories. In addition to Section 335, Mike also has written a plethora of ten minute scripts. His plays have received numerous workshops at the Missouri Playwrights Workshop of Mizzou, Babylon Players as well as Albion College in Michigan and Waldorf College in Iowa. Section 335 received its premiere at First Run Theatre and his ten-minute "Plan Period Blues" was produced by Albion College.
Mike is currently corrupting the lives of America’s youth while teaching at Wentzville High School. For more information, visit www.mikekaiman.com
